The head of the Red Cross in the Philippines has described the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan as "absolute bedlam".

Post  Sirop14 on Mon Nov 11, 2013 8:53 pm

The head of the Red Cross in the Philippines has described the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan as "absolute bedlam".

Officials estimate up to 10,000 people have died in Tacloban city and elsewhere. Hundreds of thousands of people are displaced.

Rescue efforts are being hindered by damage to roads and airports.

The storm has now made landfall in north Vietnam, near the Chinese border, but has weakened to a tropical storm.

One of the most powerful storms on record to make landfall, Haiyan - named "Yolanda" by Filipino authorities - barrelled into the eastern coastal provinces of Leyte and Samar on Friday.

It then headed west, sweeping through six central Philippine islands.

Comment:
Good Morning Fatma - two weeks addressed the issue we/I had attended SDA Philippine Church - Hayes, Children International Day, what we discussed. Their Church was started at the SDA Advent Center - London. I/we got to working with the Philippine community - their Nursing Association in Britain back in 1983/4 - we contributed importantly, please check with President FA Rene they come and work in our tuna Industry. The issues of President Ferdinand Marcos and his Wife and developments. our field of work. Many of them having worked very hard in Britain send money Home to buy a property and invest. Meanwhile Philippine and Seychelles have made great progress in many bilateral fields/issues. I mentioned that to the Hayes SDA Philippine church. My person have lost temper with/over ADRA workings more than once 0 given the intensity of my working in the voluntary, NGO sector not just Britain but international, we have gone through all this at Sabbath class etc. The Terrible double standard. How the fund is managed and Administered, work accountability and propaganda. Most important the SDA - ADRA hold the view they have and work with Faith unlike other Christian NGO working in the same field/sector. They know and ought to know there exist alternative management mechanism to manage disaster yet their double standard. Then ask the church to pray, donate and collect funds. Given my work in the field of Interdisciplinary Science - the first option to to prevent, manage preventative discipline. It complex and not everybody cup of tea. There are/exist linkage between Seychelles issues and certain so call weather Phenomena. The very tragic is the Hugh loss of lives, homes/houses and lively hood - beside the national economy. The vast majority become blind and the so call International Benchmark - unless they/its is change, it will get worse. We have also attended several International Philippine Fairs in Britain - the current situation. I had been invited to go and spend/stay some time with them. {Then we have former President Mancham all he knows is how many more titles and doctorate he is given-acquire from his involvements and write about them in the press others have done the dirty work} Please note our involvement to develop accountability and Communication platform so that alternative management, discussions and debate can take place.

Mrs Natalie Brigitte Nadage Michel of the Seychelles

AUGUST 31, 2010 BY ADMIN
The First Lady of the Republic of Seychelles, Mrs. Natalie Brigitte Nadège Michel, née Pothin, was born on 18th of August 1977 on the main island, Mahé, in the Republic of Seychelles. She grew up on the island of Praslin, the second largest island of the Seychelles archipelago, where she attended primary and secondary school.

Following further studies on Mahé, Mrs. Michel proceeded for specialized studies in Singapore and the UK where she studied Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Advertising and Public Relations, at diploma level.

Mrs. Michel also holds an International Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations as well as an International Diploma in Tourism and Travel Management which she obtained from the Cambridge International College. Following her studies, Mrs. Michel worked for different well known tourism establishment and travel agencies in Seychelles. Upon becoming First Lady, Mrs. Michel shifted her focus from her previous professional field to a cause close to her heart – the protection and well-being of children needing special attention, which is the raison d’être of the Children’s Homes Foundation she founded in 2006.

Under the programme ‘Children: Our raison d’être’, the Foundation provides support to children needing special attention with a special focus on children’s homes. The Foundation is responsible for the management of the largest home in Seychelles, the President’s Village, home to over 50 children. The Foundation also gives support to other children’s homes run by the Roman Catholic Diocese.

Children who are placed in homes generally have a history of abuse and neglect, which is the reason why the First Lady is a strong proponent of the healing and recovery of those children, to give them back their self confidence and dignity – a cause she advocates passionately. To assist her in her advocacy role, Mrs. Michel has recently appointed two “Children Ambassadors” to speak on behalf of their peers. She also leads a team of full time staff and an Executive Committee to assist her in her work with the Foundation.

Under the ‘Children: Our raison d’être’ programme, Mrs. Michel promotes a wide range of activities addressing different needs of children as well as programmes aimed at confidence building and character development through art, reading, clubs and other self development initiatives. It is Mrs. Michel’s strong belief that it is society’s duty to reach out and help those in need which has inspired her to create different reaching-out activities as part of her charitable work as First lady. Her reaching-out activities helps different groups in the community. She actively promotes charities for the cause of the vulnerable ones, engaging the business community to uphold their social corporate responsibility towards those in need through sponsorship of different projects.

Mrs. Michel has the support of a group of faithful and committed sponsors from the business community as well as a strong pool of volunteers helping her to better the lives of children needing special attention. One of the groups with special needs that has caught the attention of Mrs. Michel is children with autism. In her bid to bring awareness of autism and hence support to the cause, Mrs. Michel has linked up with international and local partners so as to make a difference in the lives of children with autism. She is the Patron of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles, bringing her personal support and contribution to the humanitarian activities of the RCS.

Mrs. Michel firmly believes in partnering with different groups in the community for the benefit of children. An example of this partnership is her recent collaboration with the spouses of diplomats in Seychelles, who have since launched their association, and with which she will be working on children-related projects. Mrs. Michel also works closely with different professional groups like psychologists, and others to give them support in their work with children, particularly those with special needs. Mrs. Michel is currently partnering with health professionals for different projects and programmes related to children. The First Couple of the Republic of Seychelles was married on 16th of July 2005 and they have a daughter, Laeticia.

Philippines Declares Calamity as New Storm Makes Landfall

Rescuers in the Philippines battled to deliver emergency aid to areas ravaged by Super Typhoon Haiyan, which may have killed more than 10,000 people, as blocked roads and constant rainfall hampered relief efforts.

The desperation among survivors in Tacloban city, the capital of Leyte province that bore the brunt of the typhoon’s gale force winds, led Philippine President Benigno Aquino to declare a state of emergency and plead with locals to be patient. While airports reopened, food and other aid was held up by roads that were washed away or covered in debris.

A BAD MOMENT WITH PRESIDENT‏

http://seychellesrealitytoday.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/a-bad-moment-with-president.html

In the Old Sechelles Seychelles you never invited just anybody for Lunch or Dinner unless there was a situation/issue, important need.

With the arrival of the Social platforms - the very many important issues we have taken to sharing which in the past were reserved for Heads of Europe Intelligence, Leading Illuminati and Politicians an Intellects, Academicians.  The vast majority turn round and treat this as if we are dishing out in a soup Kitchen. Admittedly the standards is not always the best.

The issue here we have been sharing quality information and in instant vital information -other National and their institutions how they make use and are making use of it - you in Seychelles and our communities these as manure.

Take the terrible very abnormal weather development in Philippine - we have been writing there exist other mechanism to manage, work and regulate and trigger them in instant.  How would you have like this morning to wake up in the shoe of the Philippine People, the children, mothers and elderly and the sick. It affected/impacted Seychelles this year and Lourdes among others.

For the past 30 years we have been involved and responsible for managing what is term as Linkage of nation workings with that of Seychelles to Philippine - what the SBC, our media write and the political garbage. Instead of you responding as/like half civilize we get only manure and we have work with real manure. At least one can use it for the Farm.

The issues here is that President JA Michel made certain commitment - he unofficially  agreed to leading the Seychelles Nation and constitution towards a Senate - Two tier Parliament. Before we arrive there like we work that SIROP program with then Communist and President FA Rene a great deal need to be put into place and linked. Suddenly everybody, the Oppositions,  in Seychelles including the President and State House they play nutter. They ought to know the many aspects of our archaic workings when you engage or begin to engage.  The world and other have been watching and monitoring.

Lady Natalie Michel ask for divorce and now we read President JA Michel is an SDA Adventist believer.

People are being killed, infernal sufferings,  economy destroy - can the public ask/demand from the President JA Michel and former first Lady Natalie Michel where are they going.

Former First Lady Sara Rene knew and worked a great deal with our person and so to did former First Lady Geva Adam - Rene.

We had added a follow up comment and they have refused to publish it.

We have contributed to issues long before Wiki-leak, because of so call International Benchmark and Standards. Their refusal to help this nation, the Seychellois with a review. In Sechelles Seychelles since 1977 we have lost 50 loved one in our conflict and battle, our pain grief and anguish, sorrows - in a review it would have to come out the many associated issues of modern government and today's Democratic workings, the many many many death, sufferings and loss associated with that SIROP program.

President FA Rene - knew, some of his Old Ministers knew, we trashed, argued over it before accepting to implementing. Yet nobody want to take the pain and help write a book, make a film or some kind even if one sided review - it would have help and tell the world, the region and the great international institutions to understand a very great deal of how current day and modern democracy, economy works and this include the Vatican and other Church institutions and Education institutions.

We cannot revert/turn the clock back to Communism, the USSR, COMECON era, the Warsaw Pact and then OAU.

Talking of Old Seychelles, how many of you had "Vermicelle soup as children when you had fever and called by your great Aunts and Uncle bunch of little Vermicelli". We/Mr Gerrard Hoareau among other used it in exile, this old Seychelles expression and way of saying things.

We have been lobbying and working towards a two tier Parliament - Senate for some 25 years. When we got the breakthrough Autumn last years/Spring this year. Given the supposedly great development in democratic process, workings and accountability across the Board.

Instead of taking/working with the approach bulldoze a given agenda, our prerogative forth. We judge it right and proper to give everybody in Sechelles Seychelles and our greater Diaspora and exiles the/their rights to cook out/work out something.

We have ended by making a right/royal mess - worse than that Seychelles Stock exchange. Openly speaking for those who understanding and appreciate Leadership issues of Seychelles our Nation. The requirement to be forceful in instance. The caprice of a Head of State anywhere is not to be under estimated. Meaning when they do accept a given agenda - with all its complexities, the manner and due process/associated issues to drive the agenda through and achieve a given measure/degree of success. We can write a complete book about the caprice of President FA Rene and that SIROP program.

We have another personality in the form of President JA Michel.

The Seychelles Nation, public, media, Defense force, police and many other institutions, the NGO, church ought/must have monitored a varied degree, events and development since last Autumn. The President mood, State house, his Cabinet of Ministers and Assembly.

President FA Rene had his approach of working and dealing with such very sensitive issues and President JA Michel his approach too. We had been requested/suggested to be more forceful with you the Opposition, the greater exile and diaspora community - to a good extent the International community. Because/on account of the Economic dimension - reengaging the Economic aspect/side of that SIROP in a major way. this have been ongoing and the benefits the Europe, the USA and other economies have received and what we concluded Seychelles, Mauritius and the region benefited. The challenged of AU, the UN, the IMF, EU and their stance have not change from back 20 years ago in spite of all the mega scandals, debacles, and fall outs. We/I believed in the Opposition taking and doing their fair share - as and when the final break through is achieved and proper bodies setup, protocol worked out and outlines and draft for legislation's and constitutions.

The degree of the many contributions, process and everybody would have to be studied and debated, documented - this is Democracy. At least Democracy. For instance President FA Rene had the Tenacity - meaning once we were committed come hell and high water - we knew and were certain, that given agenda would be put through/get through. President JA Michel is not President FA Rene.

From other prospective, some of the important fallout - held the strong view, let you the Opposition become more engage and everybody have failed. Again for the veteran of our exile and Opposition politic - we are not interested in fame and name making. Had we not the ability/capacity to drive this agenda would not have persisted and tarried so far.

When we say/state we had an important hand/input that the Facebook platform got deployed - laughter ha ha from those who have no idea how we work and why. Still with some of your important and more respected education unable to come back as would the Mauritian , Reunionais and say, tell us, the world you view and position on the issues of a two tier Parliament/Senate.

We listened to the Philippine Head delegation meeting in Poland cry/tears and anguish in presenting his address. We have over thirty years working with much more painful and very demanding issues. In the first place our reason fro becoming involved. In the face of 250,000 dead/killed in the 2004/5 Earthquake and Tsunami we battled kept working with the aspects of our greater ancestral archaic working. The impacts.

With that agenda for a two tier Parliament - Senate we have achieved a great deal. We are not about to give up and abandon it.

Our surprise, given that we have worked very many important issues with the South Asia nations since that 2004/5 Earthquake and Tsunami, their capacity to understand Seychelles capacity to work such important agendas with their regional neighbours. Yet they have failed. The Philippine nation is very resilient - both our government, the Oppositions and the exiles will need to determine their involvements and work with the very many high parties and actors which make the Philippine Nations. Just as we have worked other important issues with other south Asians nations.

Re: The head of the Red Cross in the Philippines has described the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan as "absolute bedlam".

Post  Sirop14 on Fri Nov 15, 2013 8:50 pm

I/ we had not wanted to put these issues in writing. This Friday across Britain and particularly the Philippine SDA Families and churches - their fasting, prayers and supplication to the Lord - the God of Abraham, Jacob, Moses and King David.

We have been praying and working interfaith issues for a very long time in Europe. The time of great political pain in Seychelles, the time of very very uncertain situation in Poland, the then former COMECON countries, events in USSR and things unfolded in their countries and Europe. We have prayed with members of the Philippine church Christians - particularly the SDA.

While we/I was sitting in almost the last row of the Church was thinking aloud - given that it had been the first time we have visited the Hayes, SDA Philippine International church since we had rebuild online the SIROP program, the Sechelles Seychelles Senate and the Seyafrique website hosted on the same platform - in the USA.

The train of thought was - here we have a semblance of economic rebuilding across Europe, the USA and elsewhere - particularly the Seychelles, Mauritius and the Indian Ocean on account of the rebuilding of those issues online. Nowhere or very little of the real - great importance of what strange Powers/forces were driving events in then COMECON, USSR, Germany Reunification the Indian Ocean and across the world. The charismatic and calling of Karol Józef Wojtyła as Head of the Catholic church - his Faith. Many from the SDA Church who have forgotten/choose to forget will say, shout - we are betrayer of our belief. Have they forgotten of Dr Samuel Bachiocie and the many leading SDA Pastors, Pastor Dwyite Nelson, who led many conventions in London - their address and note.

For those who lived and experienced these moments, they were very unique moment of deep if not extraordinary expression of faith - the kind of Church, family life and society with resulted - came about as results. There had been this very great and important surge towards reaching way and far beyond to the God/Lord many had forgotten. In so doing the blessing the brought upon their person and the church. The issues they addressed at Church. This include Muslim belief and faith.
In the church in Hayes two Saturday ago undertook to build a special section of those three online project around/involving the issues of faith, belief and church. Events of that Philippine Weather devastation - clouded our mind and the gloomy ideas racing through us. Because we know it could have been avoided.

Yesterday evening - we addressed a leading lawyer - personality in Seychelles who had helped contributed that we work, develop that SIROP program together and addressed him our concern. These days there is very little one does and it does not get monitored and hacked into. We explained the issues of our nation ancestral, Christian heraldic and such workings. Stating had those in Britain and France not opposed our efforts - the terrible weather phenomena would not have occurred.

We had been monitoring the weather issues for one week and indeed our concern when we attended that SDA children International Day two Saturday ago.

We have also addressed the issues of our field of work in EU the past 30 in Interdisciplinary high management science - this include climate and weather issues.

We starting by saying we had wanted to let those though be left alone and not put on paper. In case we said thing which will not come across as we meant and the damages.

We want to address, the Philippine SDA Church given they started at the Advent Center some 23 years ago, the former Jewish synagogue the Conference purchased, the issues we have addressed, why a Jewish synagogue. Then events of the Cold War, events in then COMECON, the USSR, then Germany and across the world - the Vatican. Then SDA global network. In Britain many issues pertaining to the SDA faith had begun to surface. We explained our wish was, for the SDA London and British Community to re-look, reappraise their core belief and faith, thinking - we had played a very crucial role that the WWW came into function and as such what we had to know and since then mountains of new, researches, debate, material, many different prospective of christian belief and approach to christian living and thinking. Some of these issues we have shared with friends and families. Even the great Jewish Faith, history, archaeology have been importantly impacted by the advent of the WWW. Tons of new material and contributions - take Wikipedia for instance.

Within that SIROP program - we had work importantly the issues of the Holocaust and Jewish faith and people, movement for the past 4/5,000 years, including ancient Europe. Their respective Faith and belief over the time and as such the Christianity we have come to know and the interpretations. That SIROP program was linked for those who have researched and studied to important aspects of ancient and modern Jewish belief - beside Christian. Their persecutions as such, we the Seychellois of French decent. The bloody wars and archaic life back 4/5000 years, the changing faces of Europe and its modern entity. The French people, search of overseas conquest and wealth to modern time. The upheavals, the death, the destruction, the exiles, those aspects who settled the Indian Ocean. Their experiences the past 400 years and we today, our generation having lost everything in that place we called Indian Ocean and having to flee/find place of refuge across the world and trying to regain our home land and build new identity. Events of the first and second world war.

Those in Britain and other international institutions would have us believe only their educated have the rights to think that way and carry such deep and intensive nation baggage need to think again. Those children born of our nation have to carry those issues in their blood and and human system.

Tonight as the Philippine SDA Churches and Families in Britain and across the world pray, fast and face the national calamity , tragedy. We want to take them back to the pre Gulf Invasion. Events developing in then COMECON, then USSR, Germany Reunification.

That SIROP program had been accepted and was being implemented. Our SDA church and those praying ought to have know deep in their heart of Heart - that the talk, debate, media hype to turn Saddam Hussian into a mad man was going to lead to big trouble - Those who prayed with Faith, yet they did not listen to the Lord voice, they listened to the media, their Pastors and the church debate - one of the largest Armies of modern history was put together in preparation to the Gulf War. Those SDA Christian who if they had been praying ought to have felt deep something was very wrong here. The church bombarded us with their press. We had shared with some church members of our views and concern.

We all know what ensued some 10 years later the Church took a different approach and stand - how wrong it was and the great evil. The Civilian death and destruction and that region today. The objective of those involved.

There are those and man y who understand what we have come to term alternative Climate and Weather science. Beside economic workings. Given we have very many types of Social platform and can communicate and share our respective views. Out there as in the time of the Gulf War their view, attitude and approach. They have other priorities, they have other agenda. How many listen to some of the great BBC, Al Jazzera, RT and several other leading personalities debate on such issues. The conclusion form those great personality and intellectual debate/Forum discussions. You try and get through and say/tell them my friends you are making big mistake instead of all the great debate - there are alternative approach/workings. Dr Henry Kissinger being a Jew stated this once prior to the invasion of the Gulf War. The world have resource it can use to solve conflicts and issues and yet is refuse to use it instead preferring wars, military solution and conflicts.

As we address the Philippine Communities - we address our Seychelles exile and the Oppositions in Seychelles. Those who knew of the issues of the Earthquake of 2004/5 and just could care an old boot. The Earthquake and Tsunami came it killed over 250, 000 and the economic devastation amounting got some $150 billions. When the UN and other world institutions came to address their reviews and damages - they pretended they had never been warned, that such terrible climate and weather abnormality could take place. The very corrupted practice surfaced and in the many reports and debates and the setting up of the many bodies and institutions nobody is prepared to admit they were wrong there exist alternative discipline and approach to such issues. Those/the current political class/we have in Seychelles.

This is why when siting in the last row of the Church seat two Saturday ago - the thought which race in our mind. The due economic rebuilding which have taken place - but noting the lack of spirituality, faith, belief which had driven the Original SIROP program of 1987/88, the necessity to address this in an important form within those three project workings. This cannot be achieved in/from Britain. It requires the involvement of greater Europe as then 1987.
