Indian HC donates ten light vehicles to SPDF

Post  Sirop14 on Wed Nov 29, 2017 4:42 pm

Indian HC donates ten light vehicles to SPDF

29-November-2017

The Indian high commission (HC) has donated ten light vehicles worth US $183,000 to the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces (SPDF).
The donation comprises four TATA Safari Storme and six TATA Zest cars.
It was the Indian high commissioner, Dr Ausaf Sayeed, who handed over the vehicles to the deputy Chief of Defence Forces Colonel Clifford Roseline, in a small ceremony held at the Seychelles Coast Guard Base at Ile Perseverance yesterday morning.
Also present were the Chief of Staff of the SPDF, senior Indian and SPDF officers among others.
After the handing over of the vehicles, Dr Sayeed stated that the government of India provides training and assistance to the SPDF.
“The governments of India and Seychelles have an excellent mutual relationship, which benefits both countries. Besides this donation of vehicles, a large number of SPDF personnel have been trained in various training institutions of the Indian Armed Forces. Indian naval ships regularly visit the waters of Seychelles for surveillance of our exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and joint exercises, including the recent visit of INS Mumbai during this month, which did anti-narcotics and surveillance patrolling in Seychelles EEZ,” he said.
Thanking the Indian high commissioner, Colonel Roseline said the Indian government through the Indian high commissioner in Seychelles have assisted in equipping the SPDF with various much needed hardware in the past.
“As you are all aware, the relation between our two countries and especially so between our two forces goes a long way, and the bonds that exist are continually re-enforced through the various collaborations and interactions we have, and yet again those donation is testimony of such collaboration,” he said.
He added the donation comes at an opportune moment as they complete this year, transiting into 2018.
“This consignment of vehicles has been taken into consideration during our budget preparation and thanks to your kind gesture it has assisted greatly in relieving much financial and administrative burden on the organisation. I assure you that the vehicles will be in good hands and will be well looked after and utilised as appropriate,” he said.
The government of India has also pledged a second Dornier Maritime Surveillance aircraft to the SPDF which is expected to be handed over in early 2018.

Forêt Noire commuters gets new bus shelter

04-December-2017

Forêt Noire commuters now have a new bus shelter donated by the Lions Club of Seychelles (LCS) and sponsored by the director of Limelite Trading Pty Ltd and Enjoy Supermarket Manikandan Ganapathi to the tune of R138,000.
It was Manikandan Ganapathi, the president of LCS Dr Sasi Kumar and the chief executive (CEO) of the Seychelles Land Transport Authority (SLTA) Parinda Herath who cut the ribbon to inaugurate the facility.
This was during a short ceremony on Friday attended by other LCS members, residents of Forêt Noire, among other guests.
The project is a close partnership between Mr Ganapathi, LCS and SLTA to provide the Forêt Noire commuters with a bus shelter which will protect them from the elements while waiting for the bus.
Mr Ganapathi stated that the commuters of Forêt Noire will now wait for the bus in a more comfortable environment.
“I wanted to contribute to the development of Seychelles, so when LCS approached me to undertake such project I immediately said yes. Limelite Trading Pty Ltd and Enjoy Supermarket are really proud to have made such generous donation, and we will try our best to continue to assist in the development of Seychelles,” he said.
The district administrator for Mont Fleuri Jancy Volcère thanked Mr Ganapathi for
having sponsored the bus shelter.
“The community of Forêt Noire have been waiting for a long time for such project to come to life. We would like to thank every partner who has worked really hard to make the project become a reality,” she said.
Dr Kumar added that LCS has contributed a lot to the community of Seychelles.
“So far LCS has donated ten bus shelters including this one. As an NGO we are proud to form part of the daily lives of people. I would like to thank the CEO of SLTA Mr Herath for giving us the opportunity and our sponsor Mr Ganapathi. Without his financial support this would have not been possible,” Dr Kumar said.

Why Seychelles Has Been ‘Very Slow’ in Removing Hurdles for India’s Assumption Island Project
BY DEVIRUPA MITRA ON 10/01/2018

In an interview with The Wire, Wavel John Charles Ramkalawan, Seychelles’ leader of opposition, talks about relations with India, visiting his ancestral village in Bihar, and more.

https://thewire.in/212476/seychelles-slow-removing-hurdles-indias-assumption-island-project-leader-opposition/

Comment - In 1982, the London/Britain main exile/refugees Oppositions, the SNM/MPR, Mr Gerard Hoareau, NDP of ex Minister David Joubert,/Mr Verlaque and Mr Rasool Ex Seychelles ambassador, Minister Andre Uzice Political Party, Mr Philippe Boulle SNP and his supporters , UKSCA led by my person , Sir James Mancham Movement pour la Resistence he had been jettisoned/Ejected  from DP by Minister Joubert and the other  Ministers. There had been already some three military attempts to change Seychelles the government by force. What this/'these entail  and  very serious consequences and meaning - this is not you video game  and comic books.  In as much that one is supposed to shut ones butt, be very careful about leaking of information  and who get to know what  and why - the gravity one places those who plan such operation the professional technician and the Intelligence, in all instance they stress and insit strong security on the part of those seeking the political and military change and they are warned if they find a major leas they run the risk of losing their life and those closely involved.  - in all instance nobody in that Seychelles could/would be daft/stupid enough to undertake such and action without the knowledge of the Several West Intelligence  - and the would do a check on the people and aspiring politicians involved to judge the seriousness  of the Project and Operation They would also do a check on you local support  you corporate interest and Major Nations support/Interests - Not once did the name of Wavel Wankalawan come up countless other names did. Several other attempts until that SIROP was conceptd in 1986 and presented in 1987 to President /FA Rene and countless Associated those from the West and East, their respective governments. In facts our exiles and refugees in London  1979, those Executives who fought and battled to communicate and managed to set up underground and covert operation /information channel -what this required and entailed. Other information and communication channel with West government Officials and Institutions, their communities and people.

We have asked everybody to note the three big cross we have place on the introduction page of our SIROP portal to stress and underline the very deep and important religious involved in that SIROP program those form Vatican, the person of  Pope John Paul - issues if we had to publish would turn the Vatican and Catholic church upside down - the Church of England those who knew our workings in Britain form 1981 onward the British Royal Family and the Masonic entities and others - the name of Wavel Wankalawan did not exist. The Orthodox Church global workings and representations, the Adventist and other Christian belief we had be in  contact then and the Jewish belief several strand and the Muslim three main strand. The name of Wavel Wankalawan just did not exist. In Britain, those who had earmarked my person to lead an eventual government including the Church of England and this country nations other Institutions , Intelligence Services. We had refused to be initiated in the Commonwealth Masonic Lodge  and underlined our exile/refuge workings with the Vatican firmly - what really ensued - we also let it be know we were not going to play the role of Sir James Mancham - the Earl of Oxford and many such leading personalities who had supported our cause were witnessed and much more informed. Those form the Adventist conference in Britain and the USA and the three strand of Jewish belief those and their  Intelligence who knew our position. We held and hold the view that the Church and Faith play is a fundamental pillar of any politic and Seychelles society, changes. We had acquired the Training, knowledge and ability to work, impute and influence in  the most important aspect of the world Church and faith workings be they Catholic, Jewish, Orthodox, Muslims. We had acquire the capacity knowledge to influence who got to what post and positions. Those elite world Intelligence Service who knew and were well aware and the several strands of Illuminati workings.  Among the concern then of President Ronald Reagan, so too then Russian and other former USSR Leading Nations involved in that SIROP program that I/my person return to Seychelles to implement that SIROP program with such knowledge and capacity the gravity and consequence. Unless one is completely loco or daft you have to take and know that sooner or later the UN would/will become involved and the need to know who is who and does what  and those that need to be informed.

There is the important need to note Seychelles media lies about the Church involvements in our exile/refugee politics - some of the terrible issues we have refused to address in public for respect of God/Heaven House and Men and woman who works in  them-. The SNM/MPR Leader Mr Gerard Hoareau ex Seminarian as did President FA Rene and other Ministers in then Seychelles, the Mauritian Community in Britain, they were not Republic the Queen Headed their country  and what we used to talk about.  The debacles of setting up that COI office Secretariat in Mauritius - the core research we had undertaken in Vienna and unlike what the media have written and those who write niceties about history the bloody battle, collateral death destruction and opposition that need to be overcome and all the time the media wrote their niceties. Then Britain Illuminati involvement in Mauritius and Seychelles Exile/Refugees debacles as well as South Africa. Beside the important role of our Italian then Illuminati workings.

Among our workings those individuals and associated who had the capacity to dictate and decided who/which individual got appointed to the world leading position and their governments appointments - form this prospective we had had important experience and expertise in influencing and impacting the government of Mrs Ghandi his sons and the many debacles  the why had those who knew  - these knowledge and high Management expertise we included and build in that SIROP program/as part of it. On this thought the need to state the Indian Business community we busted they just merely survived until the presentation of that SIROP program in fact when we visited Seychelles sin 2000 those merchants we visited those we had enlisted in that SIROP program covert. Yet upon the change their lies and dishonesty forgetting why the incidents in Uganda had taken place and other parts of the world their devious approach, lies , deceit and utter ungratefulness. Had Seychelles been an all Black country all hell would have broken loose they would have been made to pay a very heavy price. The Indian then Government knew the state of things, their Military and Intelligence Services.

Today given the many progress the NGO sector have made the OLD LUNGOS those who have come to learn the science and discipline of empowerment and they existed under the Communist system not just in Seychelles across the world. What this imply and entails. There are numerous complex mechanism and system one can apply to achieve a desired plan of action when it come to appointment and High Offices. President Sir James Mancham and FA Rene knew all about it and yet what they have chose to write in their books and so call historic journals. Over the past 15/20 years of our exile politic and working in Britain the many instance we have influenced those who got to lead their political parties and country - Seychelles is very minute in this instance after the death of Mr Gerard Hoareau what ensued. We had the responsibility to look for replacement among our Nation/citizens it was my responsibility to check their background and many other information and their suitability as such we decided the person  of Wavel Wankalawan - some of the formal communication and informal- What this statement for the Seychelles Nation today, our Justice and Constitutions workings means. The utter refusal of the national Assembly our politicians to debate or discuss such issues and their lies and dishonesty towards that nation , the Justice and the constitution.

With such knowledge and real Power the debacles and our unhappiness of his handling many aspects of our nation Opposition and in particular that SIROP program and our exile /refugees interests yet what the media and others barked. To be briefed he would have been out of politic safe for our concern of the situation and  not forcing the issue that he leave/get removed from the Leadership of SNP -

The issues  of 2016 Presidential election, our getting EU involved in our local politic and they why, the breakup of SPPF/PL based importantly upon the above workings and Seychelles is not one instance their have been and are daily instances of other governments.  Yet what the world get told. We had supported the coalition  and what took place and ensued to get that Coalition together  - now as it is turning out both person are of strong Indian decent  and the strong  interest and support of India in our National politic  and the regional and international impacts against the Seychellois of none Indian decent . Any nation and country would take have the duty to take such involvement and development very seriously. The Indian ocean and West Indies long bloody history of such involvement and influences.

At PIO Parliamentarian Conference, Modi Lauds Efforts of Diaspora in Preserving Indian Culture Abroad
As many as 124 parliamentarians and 17 mayors of Indian origin from 23 countries are in India to attend the PIO Parliamentarian Conference.

By Little India Desk | January 9, 2018 SHARE TWEET SHARE SHARE 0 COMMENTS
An effort to reconnect the diaspora with their ancestral land, the “First PIO Parliamentarian Conference” was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jan.9 in New Delhi. The participants at the event include legislators and political leaders of Indian origin from all over the world.

As many as 124 parliamentarians and 17 mayors of Indian origin from 23 countries are in India to attend the event, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

Calling the gathering a mini world parliament, Modi asked the PIO parliamentarians to play the role of catalysts in India’s economic development. “Twenty first century is being considered the Asian century and India will be a major player in this with the growing stature of our country and you shall feel proud about our growth, hence inspiring us to work even harder,” he said, according to the Times of India. “Today, bodies like the World Bank, IMF and Moody’s are looking at India in a very positive way.”

The event was attended by several Indian origin leaders from many countries, including Mauritius and Guyana. Modi made a special mention of the presence of former Guyanese President Bharat Jagdeo.

The Indian PM noted that India is experiencing aspirational and societal changes and asked leaders to join hands. He added that values of Indian culture and civilization can guide a world that is gripped in instability.

“Your ancestors had to leave India under various circumstances and that is why when you return to an Indian airport, you are reminded of your ties with this country. You have a desire to return to India and I understand your feelings very well,” Modi said, the Hindu reported.

“On one hand, you have preserved Indian culture. On the other hand, your people have excelled in sports, arts, cinema in the global platforms and have contributed to your adopted country’s welfare,” he added.

Calling the diaspora “permanent ambassadors of India,” Modi said that he makes an effort to meet NRIs and PIOs whenever he is on an official tour of a foreign country. “For enhancing our pride and dignity, you all deserve our appreciation,” he said.

This explain a lot about the visit to India🤔🤔🤔With the aggressiveness of making their presence felt masking behind heritage for political ambitions...Are we prone to become second class citizen in our own country should the priest be onboard with their idea to conquer the world.
Is this where we are heading Or is this planting the seed of exclusion of non indian decendants???Time will tell..

Seychelles, India sign new version of Assumption Island military deal
General |Author: Julia Malbrook Edited by: Betymie Bonnelame | January 28, 2018, Sunday @ 10:32| 841 views

The revised agreement was signed by Secretary of State of the Foreign Affairs Barry Faure and the Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. (Joena Meme)

(Seychelles News Agency) - Seychelles and India signed a 20-year agreement on Saturday that will enable the construction of military infrastructures on Assumption Island.

The agreement was signed for the second time after revisions were made to the previous one that the Secretary of State in the Foreign Affairs Department, Barry Faure, said was not clear.

In the revised agreement, the main aim is to provide a framework for assistance to Seychelles by India. It will help enhance the military capabilities in control and maritime surveillance of the island nation’s Exclusive Economic Zone of 1.37 million square km., protection of the EEZ and the outer islands, and search and rescue in the region for the benefit of air and shipping traffic.

The agreement will now go before the Cabinet of Ministers and then the National Assembly for ratification and only then can further transactions take place such as the design and tender for the construction of the base.

“A committee has been set up under this agreement that will enable a joint supervision by the two countries to ensure that the provisions under the agreement are executed,” said the Attorney General of Seychelles, Frank Ally.

The first agreement was signed in March 2015, during the official visit of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the island nation in the western Indian Ocean.

With the signing of the revised agreement by Faure and the Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar at the Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Seychelles and India agreed to the conditions in the new agreement.

India is to establish its first overseas military base on the Seychelles archipelago, considerably strengthening its naval presence in the Indian Ocean to counter growing Chinese hegemony in the strategically critical region.
India’s foreign secretary Subramaniam Jaishankar and the Seychelles secretary of state Barry Faure signed an agreement at the weekend in the island republic’s capital Victoria, approving an Indian navy base and air strip on Assumption Island.

Demonstrators speak out against Assomption deal

Restore Seychellois sovereignty

06-February-2018
The current use of Assumption Island by the Indian government for military purposes has already compromised the sovereignty of the Seychellois nation. Now the idea of leasing Assumption Island on a long term basis to the Indian government to build a naval base will turn the situation into a violation of Seychelles sovereignty. Our government owe the people of Seychelles a moral and legal obligation to ensure the safety and well-being of our nation and obtain the consensus of the people before going any further with their plans. Just because Wavel Ramkalawan went to India to establish his roots and just because we have allowed Indian entrepreneurs to settle in Seychelles and we have lived together in harmony and there is money in the offering, are not good enough reasons for our government to compromise and violate our sovereignty. If they continue down that path the people of Seychelles will legally challenge the government for their planned misdemeanours.

Presidential immunity
Our Supreme Court has ruled that our President is immune from liability for civil damages based on his official activities but he is not immune from criminal charges. Violating our sovereignty is a criminal act in anybody’s law book and can be challenged in the local courts and if the local Judiciary is found to be wanting in any way, then the matter can be taken to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the United Nations Council. Our presidents past and current owe a fiduciary duty of care to the people of Seychelles to preserve and protect our heritage as a nation and if the President is unsure of his grounds then he should consult the people through a referendum especially if the subject matter is so controversial. Presidents come and presidents go, some are good and some are bad but the sovereignty of a nation cannot be decided by one man and his Cabinet because their decision will have dire consequences on our generations to come well after we have taken leave of this life form.
Presidents do not enjoy immunity from prosecution because we no longer live in a world of the legal maxim of “rex non protest pecarre” meaning the “King can do no wrong”. James Michel when he was our President, under our Constitution, had no authority bestowed upon him to negotiate our sovereignty with the Indian government or any government for that matter without first consulting the people. He did so and now we are experiencing what the word “take-over” means to different people. The use of Assumption Island by the Indian naval personnel was not his decision to take alone neither with the agreement of his Cabinet. Members of the Cabinet have no mandate to negotiate our sovereignty without the consensus of the Seychellois people because they are not elected by the people, they are hand-picked by the President but even if they were elected by the people, they still have no mandate to negotiate our sovereignty. In so doing they have allowed a foreign nation to occupy part of our sovereign territory and this ambit does not form part of their appointment criteria. In my opinion they have aired on the side of committing a crime singularly and severally. It is now the preserve of President Faure and our current members of the executive to reverse this ill-conceived misdemeanour. The Indian government, with due respect, must now vacate Assumption Island and take with them their equipment and restore Assumption Island to its original and natural state as our jurisdiction and under our control. The day the Indian government military personnel landed on Assumption Island they committed an Act of War and we know what that means and just because we are a small nation others should not take advantage of us.

Taking a lesson from history
Going back to Romans times the Roman Emperors exercised their absolute power in such a situation because they believed they were not bound by any laws and during medieval Europe the feudal aristocracy did the same until the people started to object at the loss of their sovereignty. In Law the government is expected to observe “de jure” which are legally recognised practices which do not violate the citizens’ rights especially in modern day scenarios where territories are being defended with the threat of nuclear war, God forbid the world ever goes down that route to resolve sovereignty matters. All parties must put conservation at the top of their agenda and we Seychellois are proud to boast that 30% of our land mass is given over to conservation then we go and do such a stupid thing and want to place a military base only 705 miles from Victoria. It is bad enough we have not made preparations for us to survive a tsunami now we invite the opportunity for foreign military wars to be fought on our territory. What kind of nation are we?
At least Mr H. Savy in 1908 used Assumption Island to grow coconut trees and when guano, created by nature with our abundance of bird life proved more profitable, Mr Savy switched to cultivating this natural gift from our Lord. He did not destroy our environment. When the Americans tried to negotiate a military base on Assumption we told them “no Amigos” because Assumption forms part of our natural Unesco protected group of islands which includes Aldabra, our most precious conservation heritage. Now our government has seen it fit to go against the people’s will and allowed some foreign entity to occupy our sovereign territory just for the sake of a few dollars. We the Creole first nation of Seychelles must ask the Indian government to please vacate Assumption Island because we know that once we make one iota of concession the next thing is we will be taken over by India the way it happened in Mauritius. Sorry this will not happen in this lifetime.
Seychelles Civil Society (SCS) hereby demand that our government requests the Indian government to vacate Assumption and “ad statum restituere”(rerestore it to its original state) and that way the Creole nationals can live in peace and harmony with all our Indian friends and colleagues who have settled here and are doing very nicely, thank you.
