Following the publication of LSH story about the three unfortunate Bangladeshi farm workers during the past two weeks, this newspaper can report that they have left Seychelles.
Kishna Nomo, Mohamed Abdul Bashar and Madfuj were working on a farm at Grand Anse Mahé belonging to the district elected Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Waven William.
A man identified as Hassan and who claimed that he was the one who recruited his compatriots had written to the Ministry of Employment and also the National Human Rights Commission accusing the MNA of ill-treating them.
William subsequently met with Officials from the Ministry to discuss the allegations against him and his wife.
The trio left the country last Saturday onboard Air Seychelles flight to Mumbai at 10.22pm.
Upon leaving the country they also claimed that they have not been paid.
The trio’s predicament is the latest example whereby expatriate workers who dare stand up for their rights and reported their bosses to the concerned authorities about mistreatment are deported contrary to the employment regulations.
